Our skips take general household waste, wood, hardcore, soil, scrap metal, paper, gypsum, garden rubbish and plastic.

If you need affordable skip hire in Kenton with same-day delivery and a choice of skip sizes, we can help. Order before 12pm for same-day delivery, subject to availability, and book by phone, email, our web platform or our mobile app. Where a skip has to stand on a public road rather than a driveway, we arrange the council permit for you.

Hazardous Waste Not Suitable for a Skip Hire Service

Electrical Equipment and Appliances

Items classed as WEEE cannot go in a skip - fridges, freezers, televisions, computers and microwaves contain heavy metals and refrigerant gases that need specialist recycling and cannot be processed at a standard waste transfer station. Take them to a household recycling centre or use a retailer take-back scheme.

Large Batteries

Car batteries and large industrial batteries are prohibited. The lead and acid inside can leak in transit and contaminate the rest of the load, turning a skip of recyclable waste into hazardous waste. Use a designated battery collection point, or a scrap metal dealer that accepts them.

Gas Cylinders

Gas cylinders, whether empty or full, stay pressurised and combustible, so they carry a real risk of fire or explosion in transit and at the transfer station. Even a cylinder that feels empty holds residual gas. Return them to the original supplier or a stockist that takes cylinders back.

Medical Waste

Medical waste - needles, syringes, soiled dressings and pharmaceutical waste - carries an infection risk for anyone handling the load, so it cannot go through skip hire. It must be collected by a licensed clinical waste contractor, and unused medicines can be returned to a pharmacy.

Asbestos

Asbestos is linked to lung disease and cancer, and it is illegal to mix it with general rubbish. B&K does not remove asbestos - you need a licensed asbestos removal contractor for safe removal and disposal. Get in touch and we can point you in the right direction.

Tyres

Tyres are banned from landfill in the UK and need a dedicated recycling route, and they are bulky enough to damage sorting machinery. They are handled by dedicated facilities, so take old tyres to a registered tyre recycling site or leave them with the garage when new ones are fitted.

Fuel, Solvents, and Paints

Liquid chemicals such as fuel, solvents, paints and oils are banned from our skips. They are flammable, toxic or polluting, can ignite in transit and can contaminate groundwater if they leak. Harrow and Brent household recycling centres accept most of these as household hazardous waste - check before you travel.

Guide to B&K's Skip Sizes

8 YARD SKIP

Capacity: approx. 6 m³ (around 60-70 standard bin bags)

Max load: up to 8 tonnes

Best for: domestic projects and smaller construction or commercial jobs, plus heavy waste such as soil, concrete and rubble.

Compact, practical and our most popular option - it fits on most Kenton driveways.

12 YARD SKIP

Capacity: approx. 9 m³ (around 80-100 standard bin bags)

Max load: up to 7 tonnes

Best for: bulky but lighter rubbish from house clearances and shop-fitting, such as furniture and large packaging.

A good balance of capacity and footprint. Not suitable for filling entirely with heavy waste like soil or hardcore - choose the 8-yard for those.

16 YARD SKIP

Capacity: approx. 12 m³ (around 120-130 standard bin bags)

Max load: up to 7 tonnes

Best for: commercial and construction jobs producing light, bulky waste of all shapes and sizes.

Our maxi skip - substantial volume, and fewer collections on a long project.

Skip Hire vs Rubbish Removal - Which Do You Need?

B&K offers both skip hire and rubbish removal in Kenton. The right choice depends on your project, how much space you have and how quickly you need the waste gone.

Choose Skip Hire when...

  • You have a large or multi-day project, such as a renovation or building work.
  • You want to load waste at your own pace, over up to 14 days.
  • You have space for a skip - a driveway, or a public road where we can arrange a permit.
  • You are clearing heavier waste such as soil, rubble or construction materials.

Choose Rubbish Removal when...

  • Access is limited - no driveway, a skip lorry can't fit, or a permit is not possible.
  • You need a one-off, same-day clearance rather than an ongoing skip.
  • Our cage van handles it: 1 tonne loading capacity, or up to 5 tonnes with the large cage.
  • It is a wait-and-load service - your waste is loaded within a standard 30-minute window, so please have it ready and accessible.

Not sure which is right for you? Get in touch and we will point you to the most cost-effective option.

About the Kenton Area

Kenton is a quiet residential suburb of north-west London, roughly nine miles from Charing Cross, with Kenton station on the Bakerloo line and London Overground giving it strong links into central London. The area sits across a borough boundary: the HA3 side falls under Harrow Council, while addresses on the NW9 side are in the London Borough of Brent - which matters when a skip permit is needed.

Most local work is domestic: loft and kitchen refits, garden clearances and driveway projects in the interwar semis that make up much of Kenton. Whether you are a household or a business needing waste removal in Kenton, B&K provides reliable, fast and affordable skip hire in the area. Get in touch now.

Skip Hire Kenton FAQ

Skip hire prices in Kenton start from £295 + VAT (£354.00 inc. VAT) for an 8-yard skip. A 12-yard skip starts from £360 + VAT (£432.00 inc. VAT) and a 16-yard skip from £445 + VAT (£534.00 inc. VAT). Every price includes delivery, collection and responsible disposal. These rates apply to the HA3 part of Kenton; NW9 addresses are quoted at a different rate, so please give us your postcode. See our price list or contact us for an accurate quote.
It depends on the volume of waste. An 8-yard skip holds around 6 m³ (60-70 bin bags) and suits garden clearances, renovations and heavy waste. A 12-yard skip holds around 9 m³ (80-100 bags), ideal for bulky, lighter rubbish and shop-fitting projects. A 16-yard skip holds around 12 m³ (120-130 bags) and is best for the largest commercial and construction clearances. If you are unsure, call us and we will recommend the right size.
The standard hire period is 14 days, which suits most domestic and commercial projects, and you can fill the skip at your own pace within that time. If you need it for longer, arrange this with our team when booking - rental fees of £50 per skip (or £70 per roll-on roll-off container) may apply after the standard period.
Yes. If the skip is placed on a public road or council-owned land rather than on private land such as a driveway, a permit is required by law - from Harrow Council for HA3 addresses, or Brent Council on the NW9 side of Kenton. B&K arranges the permit and paperwork for you. The council permit fee is charged separately, as it is set by the council.
Yes. If you don't have a driveway, the skip can be placed on the public road with a council permit, which we arrange for you. If a permit is not possible or space is limited, our wait and load cage van service is a practical alternative.
We offer same and next-day delivery in Kenton and across Greater West London. For same-day delivery, please order before 12pm, subject to availability - and bear in mind that a road permit may add lead time. Early-afternoon enquiries are welcome and we will always do our best to help.
You can put most general rubbish in our skips, including household items, garden waste, and construction debris like soil, rubble and wood, as well as scrap metal, paper, gypsum and plastic. Certain materials are not allowed for safety and legal reasons - see the next question for what can't go in a skip.
The following can't go in a skip and need specialist disposal: electrical appliances (WEEE), large batteries, gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, tyres, and fuel, solvents or paints. Most of these can be taken to a local recycling centre or civic amenity site. For asbestos, a licensed contractor is required - B&K does not remove asbestos.
Yes, but soil, rubble and hardcore are classed as heavy waste and are subject to the skip's weight limit. For heavy waste we usually recommend an 8-yard skip, which takes up to 8 tonnes. Please tell us in advance if you are disposing of heavy waste so we can advise on the best skip.
Yes - every skip has both a volume and a weight limit, so the load has to stay within it and level with the top for safe transport. Our 8-yard skip takes up to 8 tonnes, while our 12-yard and 16-yard skips each take up to 7 tonnes. Larger skips are designed for bulky, lighter waste; for dense material like soil and rubble the 8-yard is the right choice, and on bigger jobs we can exchange skips as often as you need.
After collection, your waste is taken to our own waste transfer station, where it is sorted and processed. Around 98% of everything we receive is recycled, diverting it from landfill in line with our environmental responsibilities as a registered waste carrier.
Our headline prices are shown excluding VAT, with VAT added at the standard rate. For example, an 8-yard skip in Kenton starts from £295 + VAT, which is £354.00 including VAT. Delivery, collection and disposal are included in the price.
Skip hire is a convenient and cost-effective way to clear large amounts of waste without repeated trips to the tip, and it keeps you on the right side of your duty of care. Always check the carrier is registered with the Environment Agency: B&K has been operating since 2004 under registration CBDU191194, we handle collection, sorting and recycling ourselves, and we recycle 98% of what we receive.
