Car batteries and large industrial batteries are not accepted. They contain lead and acid that can leak in transit, contaminating the rest of the load and making the whole skip hazardous. Take them to a designated battery collection point, a scrap yard or a garage that accepts them.
Gas Cylinders
Full or empty gas cylinders are strictly prohibited. They stay pressurised and combustible, creating a risk of fire or explosion during transport and at the transfer station. Even an empty cylinder holds residual gas. Return them to the original supplier or a cylinder refill point.
Medical Waste
Needles, syringes, soiled dressings, pharmaceuticals and biological waste are classed as medical waste and carry health and contamination risks. Our skips in Brixton are not a suitable disposal route - this waste must be handled by a licensed medical waste contractor, and unused medicines can be returned to a pharmacy.
Asbestos
