Access to your property is a crucial element when delivering a skip or container to the place where it is needed.
Please take the following points into careful consideration before the delivery date to ensure a safe and problem-free service.
BEFORE DELIVERY
1. Parked Vehicles
Please make sure there is enough space for our vehicle to safely deliver and collect the skip.
If vehicles regularly park opposite your property or if your street is narrow, we recommend arranging temporary parking restrictions or informing your neighbours in advance to reserve sufficient space.
2. Height and Width Restrictions
If there are any height or width restrictions (such as gates, barriers, or low bridges) on the access route to your property, please inform us at the time of booking to avoid delays or failed deliveries.
3. Gate and Access Areas
If access to your property is through a gate, please ensure it is wide enough and open at the agreed delivery and collection times.
Low-hanging branches, cables, or other obstacles should be removed to allow safe entry and exit for our vehicles.
4. Vehicle Weight and Driveway Load Capacity
Please note that our delivery vehicles, when fully loaded, can weigh up to 18 tonnes.
Private driveways, paving stones, and similar surfaces are often not designed to support such heavy loads. When a skip is delivered or collected, the vehicle may need to partially or fully enter your driveway, exerting significant pressure on the surface.
By requesting that a skip be placed on private property, the customer accepts full responsibility for any potential damage to driveways, paving, curbs, lawns, underground services, or drainage covers caused by the weight of the vehicle or container.
If you are unsure about the strength or construction of your surface, we strongly recommend placing the skip on the public road (subject to council permit).
B&K Environmental Services Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any cracking, sinking, or deformation of driveways or surfaces resulting from vehicle or container weight.
5. Driveway Protection and Surface Damage
Skips are made of heavy steel and may have contact points that can mark, scratch, or stain surfaces such as paving, tarmac, or concrete.
Moisture, rust, or residue from materials inside the skip may also cause discolouration.
To prevent this, customers are strongly advised to:
- use wooden boards, pallets, or heavy-duty plastic sheeting under the skip before delivery,
- avoid placing skips directly on decorative or light-coloured paving stones,
- ensure the area is clear of delicate surfaces or landscaping features.
Please note that B&K Environmental Services Ltd cannot be held liable for any staining, marking, or other surface damage resulting from skip placement, delivery, or collection on private property.
6. Shared Driveways, Manholes, and Access Points
If you share a driveway with neighbours, please notify them about the planned delivery and collection in advance to avoid inconvenience.
Please also inform our driver of any manholes, service covers, or inspection points that should remain accessible.
7. Public Highway Placement
If there is no suitable space on your property, skips can be placed on the public highway directly outside your premises.
However, this requires a valid permit from your local council.
If you need assistance with obtaining one, please contact us — we can help arrange it on your behalf.
Additional Reminder
We encourage all customers to review our full Terms and Conditions of Hire before booking. These contain important information about safety, responsibilities, and liability.
By proceeding with your booking and accepting delivery, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the above requirements.
